The Rose & Crown Hotel is now run by Nigel Riley and Michelle Harbord.
The Rose and Crown Hotel is situated 100 yards from clitheroe castle. Our delightful Hotel has as much charm as it has history. There is very good evidence that there has been a public house on the site of The Rose & Crown since Tudor times. The building as it stands today was built in 1836 and up until 1860 it played a prominent part in the life of the local people, even being used as the county court at one time. Traditional characteristics of the property still exist, including the old archway to the courtyard, and public rooms retain original features like high ceilings and large windows looking out onto the street.
The public house is open all day, every day, with food served from Monday to Saturday from 11:30am to 3pm and from 12pm to 3pm on a Sunday. Evening meals are available on request. There is a printed menu as well as a specials board to choose from and there is also a children's menu. A professional chef will prepare your meal using as much locally sourced produce as possible and will cater for any special dietary requirements. There is also a selection of real ales to enjoy, some from Lancashire's own Thwaites Brewery range.
The Rose & Crown Hotel is so privileged to have won the best turn around pub of the year in 2011 by Daniel Thwaites and achieved an highly commended award in Great Britain.
